Biography
Began career in 1970 with
the Legal and General, moving to a Lloyd’s broker
in 1972 and into reinsurance full time from 1975.
Initially concentrating
on Treaty reinsurance, he has over 25 years experience
in structuring alternative insurance and reinsurance
solutions.
Developed retrospective
aggregate excess of loss policies for Lloyd’s syndicates,
without the use of time dates.
Designed and placed reinsurance
protections for several Risk Retention Groups as well
as Mutual insurers and Captives.
Appointed by a multi-national
mining corporation to oversee their casualty protections.
Developed the use of reinsurance
as a capital tool for use in M and A transactions and
gearing.
Placed the first market
wide reinsurance for the Lloyd’s Estate Protection
Plan.
Managing Director of Fenchurch
International Reinsurance Brokers from 1981 and Robert
Fraser Special Risks from 1988. The latter being purchased
by Swire Pacific in 1994.
Recruited to head up the
London office of Stockton Re, Bermuda 1996
Consultant to a Lloyd’s
managing agency and authorised representative of a Hedge
Fund.
Acted as expert witness
on various industry legal disputes.
Joined ACS in October
2009.
